The Tempest is a play by Shakespeare, probably written around 1610. The first scene takes place on a ship at sea during a storm (the “Tempest”). The rest of the story is set on an enchanted island, where the sorcerer Prospero lives with his daughter Miranda, and his two servants—Caliban, a savage monster, and Ariel, a spirit. It explores many themes - magic, betrayal, revenge, and family.
